Our History
My name is Jermaine Lewis Sr., Founder of the S.R.S. Trailblazer Mentorship Program Inc.
I began coaching basketball in 2013 to provide youth with an opportunity to develop skills in both life and basketball. When I began my career as a coach, there were certain goals I wanted to accomplish. These goal include inspiring youth to develop life skills, self awareness, diversity, discipline, and confidence in order to maximize their potential in all phases of life.
I have funded these opportunities for youth out of pocket for over 10 years.
Since 2020, I have witnessed an enormous increase in crime and a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area,
In 2020, we formed the S.R.S. Trailblazer Mentorship Program organization to provide sensible solutions to underlying problems in our community. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
We have established a proven method of success with our youth.
We have all the necessary components to operate our program including but not limited to crime prevention methods, mental health assessments via our partnership with Nu Vision Behavioral Health, physical fitness through our basketball program, emotional wellness with our mentorship program, entrepreneurial training that includes a six week job readiness program, as well as our six week curriculum for leadership development.
We conduct school/home visits to build relationships with parents and teachers.
Most importantly, we understand family involvement. Our families have contributed greatly to the overall wellness of the entire family unit.
I have personally mentored and/or coached over 300 children since 2013. My first female player, Dr. Tierra Foley is a graduate of Baylor University. That's only one of our many success stories.
